CANDELA GENTLEMAX PRO®

Candela GentleMax Pro® has set the gold standard for laser hair removal across all skin types. It is a dual wavelength laser platform that combines speed, efficacy, ease-of-use and safety. Being one of the fastest hair removal lasers on the market means that the treatment of the whole body can be completed in 90 minutes. It also has a special cooling device which helps to make it more comfortable during the treatment.

Frequently asked questions

  • How does laser hair removal technology work? A concentrated beam of light is aimed at the hair. The light is absorbed by the pigment which damages the hair follicle enough to retard future growth. Lasers can remove hair from anywhere from the body.
  • Is the Candela GentleMax Pro® safe? Yes, it is completely safe. In fact, laser and light-based treatments in general have been safely used for many years for a variety of medical and cosmetic procedures.
  • How long do the treatments take and how many treatments will I require? The treatment of the whole body can be done in 90 minutes, however treatment times may vary depending on your specific needs. Hair growth is reduced after each treatment and the number of treatments required will be based on your hair colour and type, body area and skin tone.
  • What precautions should I take throughout this process? Avoid sun exposure at least two weeks before treatment. Do not bleach, pluck or wax four to six weeks before and after the treatment. Wait for tanned skin to fade before beginning the treatment.
  • Are laser hair removal treatments painful? The Candela GentleMax Pro uses a patented Dynamic Cooling Device™ (DCD™) which prepares the skin for treatment by spraying the upper layer with a cooling burst of cryogen, in adjustable durations, milliseconds before the laser pulse. DCD™ helps ensure that the treatments are as comfortable as they are effective.
  • Are there any side effects? Possible side effects of the treatment are minor, and could include erythema and skin redness, but are only expected to last for a few hours.
